Latest tablet from Samsung is the thinnest

Techstination feature for Thursday, June 23, 2011

It’s the thinnest 10 inch tablet on the market…and it’s not from Apple. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. While Apple’s iPad 2 is slimmer than the original iPad…. the latest tablet from Samsung is even skinnier at 8.6 millimeters. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 has a lot to offer….with a dual core processor and Google’s Android Honeycomb 3.1 OS. Shoneel Kolhatkar is director of product planning with Samsung Mobile…

The Honeycomb OS has a lot of 3D graphics elements to it and a lot 3D graphics effects. The 1 Ghz dual core processor and 1 gigabyte of RAM really bring this to life.”

The performance is crisp. What some may miss is the ability to add memory…there’s no SD card slot. The initial configuration is WiFi only with prices…for a sixteen gigabyte version…starting at about five hundred dollars. You can find us at I’m Fred Fishkin.
