A digital postal mailbox. Zumbox.

Techstination feature for Monday, July 11, 2011

A digital postal mailbox.   It’s free and secure.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   Zumbox, which has been in the business of converting mail to digital for some big corporate clients for a couple of years, is pushing its consumer side.    The idea, says CEO John Payne, is to let you receive a lot of transactional mail, bills and such, in a digital format through a single Zumbox login.   It’s free and beyond that…

“It completely eliminates the risks of email and is a system of known, qualified senders and verified recipients.  So it’s a place for people to receive their mail, online, instead of on paper, and then be able to manage it, interact with it, for purposes of doing things like paying bills, and then we archive it for them, forever, for free, so when they need their files, they can get them directly from Zumbox.”

It’s spelled Zumbox and the company is offering a million dollar giveaway that you can enter by signing up.    You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin
