There’s some big news in little set top boxes. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Logitech is hoping to bump up sales for the Revue with Google TV by dropping the price to 99 dollars. And it is reminding consumers that the device will be upgraded to the next generation of Google TV this year which will include access to the Android Market Place. That means loads of apps and games. Roku in the meantime has begun shipping its next generation box…which also adds gaming capability. VP Rajeev Raman…
“We’re talking about bringing games that have become very popular on mobile devices like iPads and iPhones to the TV. So the first game that we’ve included with the Roku 2 XS is the very popular Angry Birds. So that’s one thing that’s quite different from the previous generation. The second thing is that the Roku 2 is very, very small.”
Pricing starts at 59 dollars and goes up to 99. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
