A solar powered keyboard for Mac lovers.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.    A wireless keyboard with no batteries to replace.    Logitech’s Wireless Solar keyboard, which you can find selling for under sixty dollars, has been a pretty big hit with lots of PC users.   And now comes a Mac version.    Logitech’s Amanda Sanyal…

“So there are two solar cells that work with ambient light, so any light source in your room will power the thing.  But it can work up to three months in total darkness.   There are some interesting features like this little light here that tells you when you have the right brightness  in the room.  There’s a solar application that lets you check the light levels in the room and also see the charge and your energy usage. “  And it has an on/off switch right on the top. “  And that can help you conserve your battery life.  But it does put itself to sleep fairly quickly and that helps optimize the energy usage for the keyboard.”

The list price…about 80 dollars…with three colors available at Logitech.com.  You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
