A whopping four terabytes on an external drive. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. If you take lots of photos and HD videos you know how fast you can fill up space on a hard drive. But it will take a little longer with the latest GoFlex Desk model from Seagate. Senior director of product line management Lance Ohara…
“It’s the first external hard drive featuring four terabytes, which is the largest capacity on the market. Seagate is the first to push that envelope and continues to drive the capacity and density when it comes to external storage.”
The drive supports USB 3.0 connections out of the box…and is backward compatible with USB 2.0. But the GoFlex line gives it the ability to use other types of connections such as e-SATA with optional add-ons. The price, about 250 dollars. Hitachi GST, in the meantime, has announced it too has developed a four terabyte drive. That company is being purchased by Seagate rival Western Digital. You can find us at BootCamp.com.
