Can a better light make you brighter? I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Lights that emulate the natural spectrum have been sold in niche markets to improve mood in the winter and such, but that is changing. Verilux, a company that’s been in the lighting business for more than half a century, is out with what it calls the SmartLight. CEO Ryan Douglas….
“When you provide more visually efficient light, it allows people to see what’s on the page more accurately, assimilate it more accurately and there’s been a lot of studies that back up the idea that you’re going to learn more efficiently, you’re going to read a little faster, you’re going to retain a little bit more of what you’re reading. So the idea is to bring that together with the energy enhancing and reducing portions of the light. This is the same light that we use in our HappyLight product lines. Those products address the winter blues and work with the physiology of the body to try and change what your energy level is like, how you’re dealing with fatigue.”
The SmartLight is priced for students at under forty dollars. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
