Running Android apps on Windows.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.      If you have a smartphone, chances are you’ve got lots of apps.   Everything from games  to utilities of all kinds.   Now a company called Bluestacks is bringing apps designed for Android to Windows PCs.   VP John Gargiulo….

“It is a piece of software you download into Windows.  Our logo icon pops up on your desktop on the top right.   And when you click on it, similar to an Android phone, a little window showing different apps pops up, some will be pre-loaded, and you click on it and then they run fast at full screen.   So for gaming especially, it’s very, very cool”

The software …is still alpha, so there may be some bugs and crashes.  Again it’s for Windows PCs but a Mac version is in the works.   It’s free at Bluestacks.com.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
