The writers of Toy Story pen a video game. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Alec Sokolow and Joel Cohen collaborated on Toy Story, a now classic movie about the secret life of toys. So it shouldn’t be all that surprising that they are involved with Activision’s new video game, Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure…that merges physical toys into the video game world. Says Sokolow…
“You know, we really believe in kids’ imagination and we try and do that in the stories that we tell. Here, it’s really important to realize that as an adult, you might see a toy and think it’s just a toy. But kids do see toys as being living creatures and this game really embodies that spirit.”
The Skylander toys have memory and RFID technology so they are recognized when kids bring them to a friend’s …even if they have a different type of game console. For more info, head to Skylanders.com. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
