Thin, light and powerful.   The latest in Ultrabooks.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   More and more computer makers are joining the parade in coming out with a new category of notebooks…called Ultrabooks.  Appearance wise, it would seem they owe a tip of the hat to Apple’s Macbook Air.   The Zenbooks by Asus are a great example and show what happens when  design is combined with the latest technology.   Intel is promoting the category and Ultrabook marketing strategy director Karen Regis says….

“We really like to look at Ultrabooks as being additive to the PC experience.  So they retain all the goodness that you love about the PC, but they add to it ultra-thin form factors for the best mobility possible and then very, very fast wake times from a near zero power sleep state so that you can retain your battery life as long as possible.”

Those sleep states on the Asus Zenbooks are measured in days, not hours.   Pricing starts at under a thousand dollars.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.  I’m Fred Fishkin.
