Create a holiday video card with an iPhone. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. In the digital age, more and more families are sending video greetings and slide shows by email either in addition to or instead of traditional cards. Animoto is a great place to start if you’re using a PC and 30 second video creations are free. But if you are using an iPhone or camera equipped iPod Touch, SpotMixer is out with a new Vlix app that lets you do it all right there. CEO John Love says it lets you add opening and closing text to any video clip…
“And then dress up that video with a special holiday effect. And these things could be something like a nice outdoor scene with Christmas trees or a fireplace scene or some interesting Christmas lights or just a traditional sort of card greeting with Happy Holidays at the bottom. And then you can add music to it.”
The Holiday Video Cards app by Vlix is free. Vlix for Android, by the way, is under development. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
