Watching TV on a Kindle Fire.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   Dish Network’s Sling Media has been busy creating apps for phones and tablets that allow them to connect to Sling Boxes.   They let you watch and control a satellite TV or cable box from anywhere.   And the latest new app…brings that capability to Amazon’s Kindle Fire.  The app costs thirty dollars and you will need a Sling Box.   And says Sling Media’s Monica Nakamine…

“Well our current product line includes the Slingbox Solo as well as the Slingbox Pro HD.  Those are our two main models.  But we’ve also come out with a really, really cool development with Broadcom.  Broadcom is a major chipmaker and they are going to be manufacturing a chip that has Sling technology on it.”

That will enable Sling to be built into set top boxes and such.   There’s more to come.   You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
