What makes a good smartphone? HTC focuses on cameras & sound

What makes a good smartphone?    I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp,  a report on gadgets and gear.   There’s a lot more to a smartphone than the numbers game surrounding processors and such.   HTC, for one, is focusing on cameras and sound with its new line of HTC One handsets.  The company bought a big stake in Beats Audio last year and is using that technology in phones.  On the camera side,  Director of Public Relations for the Americas Tom Harlin says…

“Well all three models have a fantastic camera that is made up of a variety of experiences.  We’ve tried to make it the fastest camera possible.  So from launching it to getting the first shot as well as the shutter speed as well as making sure the camera is really great in low light or in bright light situations, which are some of the more difficult situations to get a good quality photo.”

The cameras in the new HTC One phones will also be able to shoot still pictures and video at the same time.   You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com.  I’m Fred Fishkin.
