Taking courses from top professors for free. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Some of the country’s top universities, including MIT, are now offering the chance to take courses, online, for free. A site called The Faculty Project is working with professors from a variety of schools and the approach, says Director Tim Parks, is simple…and open to anyone….
“What you can expect is a course created using online video, Power Point presentations, audio files, a combination of these types of mediums organized in a series of chapters and lectures. And they can be in a wide range of subjects from Modern China, which is a history course or it could be a business school course, Foundations of Business Strategy.”
And there are more. The free courses are, as you could probably guess, not for credit. The site again is FacultyProject.com. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
