Backing up more of your digital life.   Seagate rolls out Backup Plus.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.    Hard drive maker Seagate is re-branding its external drives and adding some new capabilities to them.   The Backup Plus drives offer one click backup of PCs and Macs…and can save and share content on Facebook and Flickr.   Senior director of product marketing Jeff Fochtman…

“This is really about peace of mind for your content.  A lot of times what we’re seeing nowadays, especially with Facebook, is that people are increasingly taking their photos on mobile devices and uploading directly to facebook to share with their friends.  A lot of times they’re skipping the step of backing those photos up from the phone to the computer.  So we want to include that backup functionality easily and simply within our Backup Plus line of products.”

A 500 gigabyte Backup Plus drive lists for about 120 dollars.  A one terabyte version is 20 dollars more.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
