Routers designed for accelerating entertainment.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.    Western Digital, best known as a big manufacturer of hard drives for computers,  is expanding into routers with a line it calls MyNet.     The N600 and N750 are at the low end and what they’re designed to do, according to VP Scott Vouri, is unclog the Internet pipeline for the content that is most important to you….

“Both of these products come with our Fast Track technology that prioritizes and accelerates Internet movies, online gaming and voice and video chat.  The flagship product is the N900.  It actually analyzes all of the network traffic in your home in real time and prioritizes and accelerates the services that are important to you automatically.”

Set up is simple.  The N900 features two USB ports and 7 gigabit Ethernet ports.  It’s at the top of the line.  About 180 dollars.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.  I’m Fred Fishkin.
