Playing around with Disney animation history. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. The folks at Disney Interactive have been busily working on a sequel to the Epic Mickey game that arrived in 2010. Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two arrives in November and will take players back to Wasteland…a world of forgotten characters in Disney history. Associate Producer Raby Hampton says the game’s appeal is to a wide range of ages…
“It’s funny, it really is a truly family game. We found from consumer reporting on the first game, it was like 54 percent were adults, 48 percent were younger, and the remaining was kind of like the teenage range. For teenagers, for some reason, Disney’s not cool, but they come back into it. It’s cool when they’re young and it’s cool when you’re older. So that target audience of teenagers is a little hard, but the adults and the younger kids eat it up, so you really are playing as a family.”
Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two will be available on PCs, Macs and consoles. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
