Techstination feature for Tuesday, August 21, 2012

A different kind of mobile security.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.    A company called Snap MyLife has been creating software for editing and sharing photos, and now it has branched out into mobile security, initially for  Android and Blackberry devices.    The app is called SnapSecure, and says CEO Jiren Parikh….

“So the security application, in addition to anti-virus, also provides family protection, personal protection.  So if you want to locate your kids,  our product provides those types of security feature to keep track of your children and make sure they’re safe.  We have some other interesting features coming down later in the year including driving safety features.  So if your children or someone you love is traveling in a car and you don’t want them to be using text or email, you can actually shut those off, depending on how fast they’re moving.”

Set up is simple.  The price, for a family of up to 5, is about 6 dollars a month.    There’s more info at SnapSecure.net.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
