The best camera on an Android device? A trick question.

The best camera on an Android device?  It’s a trick question.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   There are some very nice camera capabilities being built into Android devices.   What Nikon has done, with the new CoolPix S800c, is take a full fledged point and shoot camera and add WiFi and Android.   Senior technical manager Steve Heiner…

“By incorporating a real, high quality, CoolPix camera with a 16 megapixel sensor, a 10X lens, and a 3 and a half inch OLED WVGA screen, all built on the Android operating system, makes this one of the most elegant sharing cameras I’ve ever seen.”

You can download apps for editing photos or even playing games or browsing the Web on the camera.   The CoolPix S800c arrives this month in black or white for about 350 dollars.    One thing it can’t do is make phone calls.  You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
