Who is the chief technology officer in your household? I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. According to a recent survey commissioned by Dell, Moms are making most of the big buying decisions in the home, including the ones involving tech stuff like computers….
“Sixty seven percent of the mom’s we surveyed said that they independently make all of the tech decisions, purchasing decisions, in the home.”
Marketing expert Tina Wells, head of Buzz Marketing, who adds…
“Six years ago, the majority of back to school funds were spent on fashion purchases. We all remember the massive Sears, J C Penney, Kohls back to school campaigns. And what we found recently, over the last three years, is that actually more of the funds are being spent on technology.”
Really not a big surprise, at least to parents. What kids want…is the latest phone, tablet or computer. And they are handing up the models from last year or the year before to mom and dad. You can find us, with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
