Microsoft finds new way to Kinect with kids

Microsoft finds a new way to Kinect with kids.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.  The Kinect system for the Xbox 360 brings a new dimension to video games…using body motion and voice.   Now Kinect is being used in new Sesame Street and Nat Geo video titles.   The idea here, is to allow kids to interact with the programs.   Global PR Manager Annie Arnold….

“Just like your kids would sit down and watch Sesame Street after school or watch Nat Geo Wild, they’re going to be able to get a full season of each of these with Kinect adding a new level of interactivity.    So now, Elmo actually talks back to you.  The kids will sit there and watch a counting exercise and instead of just passively sitting on the couch and watching, they’re actually able, with the Kinect camera to stand up and throw something back or to say something back.”

Very cool, educational and fun and Microsoft says, there’s more to come.  You can find us at BootCamp.com.  I’m Fred Fishkin.
