A smartphone that survives under water. Kyocera Hydro.

A smartphone that survives under water.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp,  a report on gadgets and gear.     It’s happened plenty of times.   A phone slips off a counter into the sink,  falls out of a pocket into a toilet or gets soaked in the rain.   That doesn’t have to be a problem.   The latest rugged Android phone from Kyocera is called the Hydro, and it’s available without a contract from Boost Mobile.   Kyocera’s John Chier….

“We’ve seen studies that say upwards of about 82 and a half million people have had phones destroyed by liquid and moisture.  So we came out with the new Kyocera Hydro and it’s a phone that’s completely waterproof.  This phone is completely protected from water, dropped underwater for up to half an hour up to a meter deep.  Boost Mobile calls it oops proof and I think that really summarizes it pretty well.”

The price, 129 dollars, with unlimited service plans from Boost saving you money as well over traditional carriers.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.  I’m Fred Fishkin.
