Skylanders are back and bigger than ever.    I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadget and gear.  Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure has been one of the most popular video games for kids over the last year…combining physical toys that come to life on game screens.   Now Activision is out with Skylanders Giants…and the fun continues.  Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg…

“It’s bigger in all ways.  So the first innovation is just in the toys themselves.  We’re introducing eight giants and they’re about twice the size of normal Skylanders both inside the game and outside the game.  And that, of course, opens up all the capabilities for those characters that you would intuit.  They’re stronger, they can lift heavier things and they can punch through walls and move boulders and things like that.  But one of the things that was very clever that Toys for Bob, the game developers, brought to the characters is that they’re not just super Skylanders, they’re not just invincible.”
