V2 of the Nikon 1 arrives. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Nikon is out with the Nikon 1 V2…an update to its compact interchangeable lens camera system. There’s plenty that’s new. Senior technical manager Steve Heiner…
“It’s a totally different form factor than our Nikon 1 V1. That camera didn’t have this enlarged grip on it. So we’ve added a little more to hang on to, even while the body has gotten smaller, we’ve added a larger grip on here so it’s easier to hang on to. We’re using our same 1.4 million dot EVF. You can use either the LCD or when you bring the camera up to your eye it’ll automatically detect that and switch to the EVF or the electronic viewfinder so you can see straight through the lens of the camera. One of the big additions of this camera over the V1 is we’ve actually included a pop up flash which the V1 did not feature.”
The Nikon 1 V2 arrives this month for about 900 dollars. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
