Canon's new EOS M compact camera

Techstination feature for Friday, November 16, 2012

A new compact system camera from Canon.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   It’s a fast growing category of camera these days.   Compact system mirrorless cameras with interchangeable lenses.   And Canon is now out with the EOS M.  Technical specialist Derek Tobias….

“It has a lot of the same technology as our EOS Rebel T4i.   It utilizes the same 18 megapixel hybrid CMOS AF sensor, which is an APSC size sensor.  It also utilizes the same 3 inch capacitive touch LCD.  So it’s very seamless, you can pinch to zoom to check focus after you’ve taken the picture.  You can swipe through your photos.  You also have the ability to change your settings and full menu navigation via the touchscreen LCD.”

The price…about eight hundred dollars.   It uses different lenses than other Canon EOS cameras…but a 200 dollar adaptor is available.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
