Wireless charging in more places and with more devices.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.     There are a couple of competing standards out there when it comes to wireless charging for mobile phones and such.  The idea is simply put your phone down on an enabled surface and it begins to charge.  PowerMat has partnered with Duracell for easy to use add on cases and surfaces for consumers.   A new case is out for the Samsung Galaxy S III.   And the company is pushing the technology into public places.   PowerMat President Daniel Schreiber…

“Starbucks started testing this technology by embedding it into table tops, counter tops, in various of their stores in the Boston area.  And they are joined by others, General Motors is putting it inside cars for example and Madison Square Garden is putting hundreds of these wireless charging spots inside the renovated.

The idea of the Power Matters Alliance is to move wireless charging from being just a cool technology to being really useful.      You can find us at BootCamp.com.  I’m Fred Fishkin.
