Shopping for a new computer?   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.      If you are shopping for a new computer, this time of year, there are more choices in design, form and function than ever before.   Apple has refreshed some of its line up and on the Windows side,  there are desktops, notebooks, Ultrabooks and a wide range of Ultrabooks that convert to tablets with a twist, a slide or a snap.    The convertibles, like the Lenovo Yoga are cool.  But the folks at Intel are reminding consumers that to run the full version of Windows 8 and the software they’ve become accustomed to,  it takes a full powered processor.   Technical Marketing Manager Craig Raymond…

“All of the Windows 8 machines that are running on Intel, whether it’s our chips that are specifically made for tablets or our standard Ultrabook and laptop chips, are all going to be running full versions of Windows 8.  That means you just get that entire whole desktop compatibility that we’ve had in all of the previous generations of Windows.”

Which to lots of folks, is pretty important.   You can find us with archives, giveaways and more at BootCamp.com.  I’m Fred Fishkin.
