Ready to take those holiday photos?  Don’t leave out the food.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.    The big holiday get togethers with friends and family produce lots of photos.  But people aren’t the only subjects worthy  of attention.  Aunt Harriet’s amazing ham or Grandma Polly’s perfect pie should be preserved for posterity too.  Photographer and author Lou Manna, who has been specializing in food photography for years, has plenty of advice….

“Typically most people use a point and shoot camera and they leave the built in flash on, because they are taking pictures of their loved ones, which is a good way to shoot people at your holiday gatherings, is with a flash on the camera.  But to shoot food that way, I don’t recommend it.  Because the direct flash flattens the subject and reduces texture and depth”
