Yamaha's consumer headphones: What's different.

Techstination feature for Thursday, December 27, 2012

Never mind those earbuds that came for free.  Headphones are  hot.  I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.     You see them everywhere these days.   Headphones made popular by Beats and others have caught on a big way.    Better sound and a fashion statement are what consumers are after.   Now Yamaha has jumped in the category too…with a stylish Pro series line, starting at about two hundred dollars.  And they’re designed to impress through a wide range of music styles.  Senior VP Tom Sumner….

“We thought that having a headphone line that sounded great for every kind of music was really important.  And then also had a nice fashion look.  So our top of the line Pro 500s, they come in our Yamaha racing blue, ivory, Yamaha piano ivory and piano black.  It’s a hot category and we’ve worked really hard to come up with some great sounding headphones that we think people will really enjoy.”

From our experience, they don’t disappoint.    You can find us with archives, interviews, giveaways and more at BootCamp.com.  I’m Fred Fishkin.
