Schlage's Nexia home automation continues to grow

Techstination feature for Friday, December 28, 2012

Schlage expands its Nexia home automation and security line.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   I’m a fan of technology, but I am not a fan of technology products that are frustrating to install or use.   What Schlage has done with its Nexia line of Internet connected door locks, light switches, sensors and more, has made it simple enough for everyone.   A  little bridge plugs into your home network…and gives you control from your smartphone or tablet from anywhere.  Nexia has added door and window sensors, motion detectors and an outdoor camera.  Brand manager Paige Muhlencamp…

“So whether it’s security and they want to see if they left the door locked or unlocked or if they want to set an alert so they receive a text message when a son or daughter goes into the home.  Have the ability to take those tasks if you will and put them in their own hands.”

You can find starter kits for the system for about three hundred dollars.  You can find us with archives, giveaways and more at BootCamp.com.  I’m Fred Fishkin.
