What cool technology do we have to look forward to?   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   Some of it sounds far fetched.   Some of it sounds fun.  Scientists at IBM are out with their annual list of five technologies we’ll be seeing in the next five years.  And among them, says Telecom Research Chief Technology Officer Paul Bloom,  will be the ability to touch through a phone….

“Oh yes.  And we’re actually doing some experiments right now.  If you’re going shopping over the Internet and you see this beautiful sweater, but you’re not sure you want to buy it.  You want to reach out and touch something.  You’ll be able to take advantage of the technology on your smart phone through vibrations and electromagnetic fields to give you a sense of touch.”
