A business card with a chip inside from Moo

A business card with a chip inside.  I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   Imagine having a business card that you can hand out…just by tapping it on a smart phone.  Online printing company Moo has begun testing the concept of putting near field communication or NFC chips in business cards.   Chief Revenue Officer Lisa Rodwell…

“You can’t see it from the outside of the card at all.  But if you touch that card to one of the new Blackberries or Nokias or the Samsung Galaxy, what it does is it sends a signal to your phone to load either a link to a Web site or you can even put a vCard on it which would download the data from your card.”

Moo is including one of the NFC cards with orders for its Luxe line…and we’ll be seeing more in the months to come.   There’s more info at www.moo.com/nfc.   You can find us with archives, giveaways and more at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
