Getting smarter about using energy.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.    Ambient Devices, an MIT spin off company that has created some interesting gadgets over the years, a ball that glows different colors to reflect the temperature outside or the performance of the stock market, is out with something called the Energy Joule.   Again, it is a glowing orb, but this time it lets you know when the best times are for energy consumption.   Red indicates prices are high, green means they are lower.  It communicates wirelessly with smart energy meters installed by utilities.  CEO Pritesh Gandhi…
