They aren't just playing games anymore. I'm Fred Fishkin with Bootcamp, a ThirdAge.com report on computers and technology. The curtain is about to go up (sound) on a new battleground in the family room. The battle is for the space next to that big screen TV. Will it belong to Sony or Microsoft or Nintendo or Sega. The new machines which will begin arriving in the United States this Fall... .will play DVD movies... .connect to the Internet... .and play a whole new breed of video games. Sega's Dreamcast has a head start on that end of the market... .(sound) but will have to add DVD capability to keep up once Sony launches the PlayStation II. And next year, Microsoft is getting in the game, so to speak, with a device it has code-named... the X Box. Microsoft's Don Coyner...
