The latest interchangeable lens cameras from Sony. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. When it comes to innovation in interchangeable lens cameras, Sony has been leading the charge of late. This month, two new models arrive and part of the focus is on affordability. The a58 with an 18 to 55 kit lens is priced at about 600 dollars while the new NEX 3N compact mirrorless model is about 500. Sony Senior Technical Manager Mark Weir…
“The 3N becomes the world’s smallest and lightest interchangeable lens camera with a normal APS-C size sensor. There’s one or two interchangeable lens cameras with very small sensors that have it a little bit smaller, but not by much. And so we use the same image sensor that is used in conventional digital SLRs to realize the picture quality that’s so important.”
The kit includes a motorized zoom lens and the camera features a new lever on top to control the zoom. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
