Technology to help with hearing that’s over the counter.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.    A company called Able Planet, while best known for its line of noise canceling headphones,  has had its focus, from the start, on technology to assist with hearing.   Now, it is delivering both in ear and behind the ear solutions.  CEO Kevin Semcken….the idea is to make it simple…with kiosks in Brookstone stores…for instance…

“That will enable you to walk, while you’re going through the airport, you’ll be able to walk into a Brookstone, put on a headphone, get a hearing check.  That hearing check will go through tones quickly, because they know you’re running for a plane, and then come back and say somebody with your profile has benefitted by these products.”
