TransMedia's Glide arrives on Apple devices

Techstination feature for Wednesday, June 12, 2013

With a new app for Apple devices, TransMedia’s Glide puts your files just a touch away.  I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   The CEO of TransMedia, Donald Leka, got into a bit of hot water with Apple, when he said consumers really don’t care that much what platform they are on….they simply want to be able to easily access and share a family photo and other files.  But controversy aside,  lots of iOS users are giving Glide a try.   What can it do?  …

“The idea behind Glide is that your files are fragmented across different devices that run different operating systems and across various disconnected cloud services.  We all live in a multi-platform world and what Glide does is it gives you a single log in, a single search box and one system to manage all of your files.”

The new Glide service is also available on Android and Windows 8.   There’s more info at GlideConnect.com.   You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
