iPad app that teaches kids to read by writing

Techstination feature for Friday, July 5, 2013

An iPad app that teaches kids to read by writing.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   It may sound a little topsy turvy, but a company called WriteReader, says in the end the idea of teaching children to read by writing, simply works.   Co-founder Babar Baig….says the app is designed for kids to use with their parents…

“We don’t care if the child can ABC or not.  Just take a picture of any activity which the child likes and is meaningful.  And try to type within the app all the experiences which the child has about it.  Now that will be an attempt of writing.  So below, the adult can type conventional writing and then the child can relate to how it’s supposed to be.”

Baig says it is the same way children learn to talk.  Again the app is for the iPad and is priced at 7 dollars.  You can find us at BootCamp.com.  I’m Fred Fishkin.
