Back to school with a tablet? Acer's Iconia W3-810

Techstination feature for Friday, August 30, 2013

Going back to school with a tablet instead of a notebook PC.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   This time of year is one of the busiest typically for computer sales as kids go back to school and parents assess the technology needs in the household and many are considering tablets.    Acer has positioned the Iconia W3-810… …as one of those alternatives.   Senior Product Marketing and Brand Manager Eric Ackerson…says there are some key advantages…

“For one, they’re getting a very portable device that’s easy to carry.  And it functions as a tablet with the wonderful Windows 8 modern UI.  But it has the power and the functionality of a PC.   So you’re getting the best of both worlds.  We are offering 32 gigabytes of storage and 64 gigabytes as options.”

There’s an SD card slot for expansion…and Acer includes the Student edition of Microsoft Office.   Pricing starts at under 300 dollars.  You can find us at BootCamp.com.  I’m Fred Fishkin.
