Seagate offers Rescue and Replace plans for hard drives.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   If you’re one of the many people who don’t back up your computer…you are asking for trouble.   But new plans from Seagate….called Rescue and Replace…may make that trouble not quite so bad.   How do they work?   Marketing VP Scott Horn….

“So what happens is in the first year after you buy your drive, you can purchase it at the time you purchase your drive or later, and all you just simply do is register your drive, we have software that helps register the drive, and if you ever have a problem you just call us and we send you a box.  You put the product in the box, ship it to us, it’s all self addressed, already paid in advance.  And we’ll recover the data and if you have a Rescue and Replace plan, we’ll put it on a new drive for you and send you back the new drive with your data on it.”

Four years of Rescue and Replace coverage is priced at 60 dollars.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.  I’m Fred Fishkin.
