Kids, videogames and imagination. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. The latest edition of Activision’s Skylanders video game franchise is arriving and there are lots of kids who are eager. The game, from the beginning has merged physical toy characters with on screen play. And the new Skylanders Swap Force lets players create their own characters by taking the top half of one and putting it on the base of another. That leads to more imagination in the game play. Guha Bala heads Activision’s Vicarious Visions studio….
“I started playing Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure with my daughter when she was 4 and a half years old. It was her first video game at the time. She’s now 7 and a half and while that was really about discovering how to play a video game, now it’s really about all the different things we can do together. It’s a fantastic experience for a parent and child to play.”
Skylanders Swap Force arrives on the 13th on a wide variety of game machines. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
