Dell puts a big new push behind tablets. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Dell is using the new Venue sub-brand for both….Android and Windows tablets and hopes to give the likes of Samsung, Google, Amazon and Apple a run for their money. Dell’s Director of Global Consumer Messaging Jonathan Guttell says there are 7 and 8 inch Venue tablets…
“If the 8’s not big enough, we have the Venue 11 Pro, which is an 11 inch version. And this truly has the power of a laptop in a tablet form factor. And you even can buy a dock and dock it so that you can power a bigger display. So you sort of have that, take your pick, you can have a tablet, you can buy the external keyboard that folds into it and have a laptop, or you can connect it to an external display and really have a desktop experience with this tablet.”
Pricing starts at 499 dollars. The 7 inch Venue is priced at about 150. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
