What’s the most eye catching fitness watch out there? I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. The answer…hands down…is the Misfit Shine from Misfit Wearables. The Shine is a slim silver disc about the size of a quarter that can be worn on your wrist…as a pendant…or as a clip on. It can show you the time…but only in five minute increments…using little LEDs that light up. There are sensors to track your movements and sleep…Bluetooth to connect so far with iOS devices. And says co-founder and CEO Sonny Vu….a big plus is a replaceable battery that lasts 4 to 6 months…
“You know, we have enough things to charge in our lives. Our laptops, our iPads, iPhones. And asking people to charge yet another thing really isn’t going to go well with a lot of people and I think that’s been a barrier to a lot of folks to wearing things.”
There’s more info at MisfitWearables.com. The Shine sells for about 130 dollars. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
