A camera designed to track your life. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Wearable cameras are everywhere these days, with many designed for capturing action sports or for professional use in areas like law enforcement. Then there is OMG Life’s new Autographer. Managing Director Simon Randall …
“It’s the world’s first intelligent, wearable camera. It runs, it’s based around five main senses. So it’s constantly sensing the environment around you, monitoring acceleration, orientation, colors, speed and movement. Based on those differential changes, it decides when to take an image. So basically as the wearer, all you have to do is clip the device on, go and do something fun and interesting, and the camera will basically take a great documentary account of the event for you.”
The images are wide angle and aren’t high res….good thing since the Autographer takes thousands of them. The accompanying software helps you put all of them together. All of those sensors and technology mean it isn’t cheap, about 550 dollars. (Note: price lowered to $399) You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
