More new ways to watch a Slingbox.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   Sling Media has updated its apps to let you watch your home TV content anywhere…using a Slingbox.   In addition to new apps for iOS and Android.. there’s one for Roku and an app coming for Windows 8.1.   The Slingbox 500 now can access Blockbuster on Demand and Sling Media’s Brian Jaquet says it can also let you view photos and videos stored on your home network from anywhere.  Beyond that…

“The main value proposition of Sling and Slingbox is to actually make your cable or satellite subscription or your telco subscription more valuable, right?  Giving you access to the content that you’re paying for,  available on the most popular devices, tablets, smartphones, computers, but also in a remote location half way across the country or halfway around the world.”

The Slingbox 500 is priced at about 300 dollars and is one of those products that simply works and works well.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
