Wired clothing to keep you warm: H2C Brands VoltHeat

Techstination feature for Thursday, December 26, 2013

Wired clothing to keep you warm.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.     Staying warm in the outdoors in winter isn’t always easy if you live in some of the chillier parts of the country.   But a company called H2C Brands is doing its part to help with garments that use some of the latest lithium ion battery technology to power electrically generated heat.  It means the company’s well-made heated Volt Heat vests for instance…can provide warmth for up to five to ten hours.   President Chris Haffly says while heated clothing has been around for a while…

“We use real fine stainless steel fibers that are all wound together.  And then our patented process of the way we put it into a garment and construct that heating pad makes it the most efficient and most durable heating system in the market.”

There are vests, jackets, slippers…even socks in the company’s line at VoltHeat.com.   You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
