The latest in LED lighting. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. With the government flipping the off switch on many incandescent light bulbs this year…many consumers who’ve been reluctant to switch to more efficient forms of lighting will have no choice. But with various rebates available LED bulbs are becoming more affordable making them a smart choice. They aren’t all the same, however. Switch Lighting is out with the Infinia. How is it different? Marketing VP Gary Rosenfield says the bulbs are filled with liquid silicone…
“You really need to keep them cool. And that allows us to not only replace the typical 40 watt or 60 watt incandescent bulbs, but also go all the way up to a hundred watt incandescent. So we’ve got a full range of products that we’re able to offer as a result of that. ”
In some areas…rebates bring prices down to the five dollar range. Keep in mind you can save 80 percent on energy costs and the bulbs can last for over twenty years. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
