Using your smartphone to unlock your door.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.     It’s called Kevo, a low energy Bluetooth enabled deadbolt from Kwikset.   It is smartly designed with a blue LED circle that lights up when you and your enabled phone approach the door.   The advantages?   Sales and marketing director Keith Brandon….

“Well I think it’s convenience, is the primary.  One of the big functions that this lock delivers is your ability to manage access control from your phone via the application.  You can sit in the office and send an email to a friend, a family member, whoever it may be that needs to get into your home, they can then download their electronic key and then get into your home.”

And you decide how long that electronic key will work.  Right now, Kevo only works with iPhones…the 4S or newer.    Kevo, which sells for under 220 dollars can also be opened with a key fob or a standard key.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.  I’m Fred Fishkin.
