Don’t look now, but here comes a smart watch for kids. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. The market for smart watches for grown ups is just getting started with devices like the Galaxy Gear and Pebble…but VTech says it will have a smart watch for kids on the market this year. It’s called the Kidizoom Smart Watch. What will it do? Marketing Director Louise May says it is a watch and a camera…and…
“You’ve got a voice changing mic, three in built learning games because VTech is synonymous with learning. And it’s really important to us that we’ve always got some learning content in all of our products. It’s also fun that kids can have this watch on and if they’re bored at dinner they can just quickly dip into a game without mom having to get the tablet out of the bag. It’s got a stopwatch for playing games and racing each other in the backyard. And very popular with moms is the timer. Okay..you’ve got ten minutes to clean up your room.”
The Kidizoom Smart Watch will likely sell for under fifty dollars. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
