LED bulbs get even brighter.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.    There are a number of reasons to switch to more efficient lighting in your home.  Tops on the list for most is saving money.    And now…the payback for an investment in LED bulbs is even faster.   Cree, whose LED bulbs are carried at Home Depot… is now out with a replacement for 100 watt bulbs.  And   VP for Product Strategy Mike Watson says prices continue to fall….

“We’re dropping our prices up to 23 percent.  One example is our 60 watt LED bulb going from 12.97 down to 9.97.  That’s a 23 percent savings for consumers.  And what it really means is that even though every one of our bulbs, even at the 12.97…pays for itself and then pays the consumer for years to come, it just drives that affordability up front better and also drives the ability to generate savings sooner for the consumers.”
