The shape of ultra high def TV.    I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.    The pictures looks amazing…and little by little….we’re hearing about more ways to watch ultra high definition content on those expensive new TVs on the market.  Actually…they aren’t quite as expensive as they were a year ago.  Samsung’s new UHD models start at about 25 hundred dollars.   But the consumer electronics giant is betting that even pricier curved UHD screens will win consumers over.  They start at about four thousand.   Executive VP Joe Stinziano…

“When you sit in front of curved, the first thing that you’ll notice is that it feels like you’re a part of the action.  It feels like you’re a part of something not just watching something.  And the reason for that is, there’s many physical reasons, but our eyes are curved.  And when we see something flat our brain is trying to interpret what we’re seeing.  And you also get this great experience of not having to be just sitting in the center.”

The curved screens can still be wall mounted.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
